Greek media: We are not ready to fight Türkiye

An article in Greek media reported that tests conducted between May 28 and June 2 were successfully completed, noting, “Important capabilities such as optical line tracking, aircraft carrier detection, runway detection, and landing angle estimation with ground view were successfully tested.”

The article mentioned that the Bayraktar TB-3 “remained in the air for 1,167 hours and eight minutes” and noted that it performed precision strikes with a supersonic missile in cooperation with the TB-2.

The article stated that the TB-3 can be controlled from very long distances, will significantly contribute to Turkey’s deterrence, will be a leader in its category, and can perform reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions with the smart munitions it carries for targets.

AMONG THE TOP 10 COMPANIES

While Defense Industry Presidency (SSB) and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data were shared, it was emphasized that Baykar, the manufacturer of Bayraktar TB3, has been the leader in defense and aviation exports for three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023).

The newspaper stated, “Baykar, which realized $1.8 billion in exports in 2023, was among the top 10 companies with the highest exports in all sectors of Turkey.”

It was stated that Baykar “has made Turkey the leader in the global UAV export market,” and it was evaluated that “The Turkish drone giant, Bayraktar, the world’s largest UAV company, has signed export agreements with 35 countries for the TB2 SİHA and 15 countries for the Bayraktar Akıncı SİHA.”

WE ARE NOT READY FOR THIS WAR

Another article published in Pentapostagma drew attention to the global successes of Bayraktar UAVs and mentioned that the technology gap between Greece and Turkey is widening exponentially. The newspaper stated that Greece could only start mass production of UAVs after at least three years of effort, emphasizing that long-term preparation and cooperation between the state and the army are necessary.

It was underlined that UAV production in Greece is progressing slowly due to the complexity of bureaucracy and outdated legal regulations.

The newspaper pointed out that Greece cannot compete with Turkey in the UAV race, stating, “The Greek Armed Forces’ preparation to use new technologies is still lacking. Turkey is far ahead. We are not ready for this war.”
