Nobel laureate Prof. Sancar could treat brain tumors without damaging nerve cells

Nobel laureate scientist Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar has signed a study that shows that the molecule called EdU can be used in the treatment of tumors in the brain without damaging the nerve cells.

Nobel Prize-winning scientist, who has been working on the repair system of DNA for years, Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar also carried out an important research for brain tumor. Researching with his team how DNA damage is repaired using a molecule called EdU, Prof. Dr. Sancar, the way to develop drugs that kill the tumor without damaging the nerve cells in a patient with a brain tumor will be opened. This study is an important glimmer of hope for a brain tumor called glioblastoma, which is very difficult to treat. While the research is accepted for publication, it is expected to be published in the first issue of the journal PNAS, one of the most important scientific publications in America.
