Second Israeli blow to Trump on the way

Eli Azur is one of the richest businessmen in Israel; the richest broadcaster. His fortune is estimated to be in the trillions in dollar terms, taking into account the media outlets he owns (such as the Jerusalem Post and Maariv newspapers), the broadcasting rights he buys, and especially the market value of his television license, which includes commercials for every soccer match in Israel.

However, such an influential publisher is at odds with Israel’s prime minister, who is on trial as a war criminal in international courts. Netanyahu is known to insult Eli Azur, who testified in 2017 in an investigation into allegations that he promised Arnon Mozes, the owner of Yediot Aharonot, public funds to publish in his favor. 5 years ago, a newspaper reported that Netanyahu cornered Eli Azur and shouted at him, “How you distort the facts, how biased you are!”

Now, almost all of Eli Azur’s media outlets are reporting that Israel has been a “regional superpower” since the day it dragged America into attacking Iran, and that its first test will be to strike again at the two bases Trump failed to hit (or deliberately lied about). But there is one thing that stands out in these articles and podcasts: Sarcasm. The articles reek of hidden sarcasm, sarcasm, sarcasm. And I understand that it is not Netanyahu who is being mocked directly, but President Trump. In a way, Eli Azur and his team, who are not Netanyahu’s friends, are telling Trump that the Israeli prime minister, whom he considers a friend and to whom he sends planes full of weapons and money, is undermining him.

The Jerusalem Post, in an article devoted to the subject and embellished with videos and podcasts, uses a much more provocative statement in its subtitle: “What we are witnessing now could be the first chapter of Pax Israeliana. A regional order not imposed by occupation, but secured by power based on principles.”

Ugh… Don’t let geopolitical theorists like George Friedman, Peter Zeihan and John Mearsheimer see this! Because almost all of these theories are dominated by the view that the US has “retreated and will retreat further” from its role as international hegemon in the last decade, but on two conditions: No country (including Russia and China) can claim to be a regional superpower and no one can have a navy in the Pacific and North Atlantic stronger than the US! Friedman and Zeihan have written openly (and citing evidence from military plans and statements) that if these conditions are violated, the US will reintroduce Bush’s “Endless Wars” strategy, again and more furiously.

The National Security Journal, a magazine known for its ambitious defense predictions – all of which have come true – said in an article titled “Israel Prepares to Bomb Iran Again” that “In his meeting with Netanyahu, Trump did not object to Israel’s readiness to launch more strikes.

In this column, I pointed out that during Israel’s 12-day attack on Iran, Trump was running around saying, “I will solve the Iran problem through negotiations,” but he couldn’t even get his own ministers, national security adviser and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to accept this thesis. In the end, I shared my opinion that Trump, who was content to watch the US attack on Iran only on the screen, accepted defeat in the face of NeoCon, Globalist and “Deep America”, which is keen on redrawing the map of the region. Now, the reports by both Israeli and US defense media that Netanyahu is preparing to launch a new attack and that Trump does not object to it do not seem to contradict the course of events.

Despite all this, the funny phrase is the definition of “Pax Israeliana”: “A regional order achieved by force based on principles, not occupation.”

Pax means peace: Pax Romana, Pax Britannica, Pax Ottomana, even Pax Americana, even if it means more war than peace. These are all names for periods of some kind of secure peace. Israel’s name, on the other hand, has meant war, occupation, colonialist expansionism since its creation; peace has nothing to do with Israel!
