Turkish Armed Forces convoys entered Syria from three directions: Afrin, Ras al-Ayn, and northern Aleppo. According to some reports, Turkish army convoys are advancing towards Manbij.
A Turkish Armed Forces military convoy reportedly entered the Aleppo region through the Deir al-Ballut border crossing, and another convoy entered the region late at night through the Adwaniyah border crossing.
Syrian Government Forces have also begun deploying new military reinforcements to the Deir ez-Zor region. Local sources report that artillery systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been deployed to the region. The 86th Division is reported to have sent additional military reinforcements, primarily to locations in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu visited Damascus, the Syrian capital, on December 5–6, 2025, at an official invitation. Immediately following these meetings, information from the field indicates that the Turkish Armed Forces have sent new reinforcements to Syria.
These developments, simultaneous with the contacts in Damascus, are being interpreted as signs of new preparations on the ground. Reuters News Agency had previously claimed that Turkey had given the SDF until the end of the year.
