Türkiye is interested in F110 engines, produced by General Aviation, not only for its indigenous jet KAAN but also for next generation drones, says Yusuf Akbaba, a Turkish defense expert. Akbaba said Türkiye’s demand was being whistled among people in defense industry in recent times.
Turkish drone producers, namely Baykar and TUSAŞ, produce mid-weight armed drones such as Kızılelma and Anka-3, which can carry 1.5 ton payload. F110 engines are estimated to be used in larger size drones, analysts say.
