79% of Turks fast in Ramadan

Ipsos Research surveyed the changing attitudes and behaviors during Ramadan as part of its research on the agenda. According to the survey, there was no change in fasting habits compared to last year. As was the case last year, 8 out of every 10 people said that they are fasting this year. The rate of those who said they would fast only on Laylat al-Qadr this year was 2 percent.

Accordingly, the rate of those who said they fasted during Ramadan last year was 77 percent, while the rate of those who said they fasted this year was 79 percent. In addition, while the rate of those who said they fasted during the whole Ramadan was 67 percent, the rate of those who said some days was 12 percent, the rate of those who said only on the night of Qadr was 2 percent and the rate of those who said they did not fast was 19 percent.
