America’s New Alignment

Over the past few weeks, the White House has seen a flurry of dismissals, diplomacy, threats, and strategic reevaluations regarding US-Israeli relations. Publicly, it began with Trump dismissing National Security Adviser Michael Waltz after his use of an Israeli messaging app (TeleMessage Signal), and backdoor communications with Netanyahu promoting US strikes on Iran. Immediately following this incident, Israel attacked Syria’s T-4 air base, disrupting plans to transfer its control to Türkiye. Not long after summoning Netanyahu and admonishing him to “be reasonable” about Türkiye’s presence in Syria, there was a terrorist attack against Indian tourists in occupied Kashmir.

This terrorist attack coincided with US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to India. Worryingly, India resisted international calls for an independent investigation on the attack, despite evidence leaked from RAW (India’s intelligence service) suggesting it was a false-flag attack conducted in cooperation with MOSSAD.

Exhausted with Israel’s attempts to drag the US into wars against Yemen, Iran, Syria, Türkiye, and now Pakistan, and disgusted by their ongoing genocide, the Trump administration finally had enough.

Trump cut contact with Netanyahu, with journalist David R. Reilly saying AIPAC was excluded from the Trump administration. The US signed a peace treaty with the Houthis, without guaranteeing Israel’s security from further missile attacks. Trump announced he wouldn’t visit Israel during his upcoming Middle East tour, while instead planning to meet with both the Syrian and Palestinian Authority’s leaders. The US removed Saudi Arabia’s recognition of Israel as a condition for nuclear deals and removed Hamas’ disarmament as a ceasefire condition. Finally, Trump termed the brief war between India and Pakistan as “disgraceful”, and provided India with none of the intelligence or diplomatic support it expected.

After Trump’s threat to cut security aid to Israel, Netanyahu sought to save face, saying “I think we’ll have to detox from US security assistance”. This decades-long unconditional support from a superpower certainly was toxic, for humanity, but was the only thing allowing Israel to exist in the region, as it slowly committed genocide against the surrounding Muslim population.

Now, Trump is poised to accept a Qatari jumbo jet as the future Air Force One replacement. The significance of this can’t be overstated. Presidential transports are strategic assets, since the life and information confidentiality of the president are at stake. Accepting a Qatari jet as his future transport sends a signal to Israel that America trusts, and has decided to side with the Qatar-Turkish-Azeri-Pakistani axis. It can be expected that many of the vehicles, security equipment, and especially communication devices used by the US government will be replaced soon, as Israel is now regarded as a national security risk.

Israel and India are more isolated than ever before, with their plot to corner and exclude Türkiye using regional alliances (IMEC & East Med) increasingly a distant dream. It also seems likely, with Trump possibly visiting Istanbul for talks between Russia and Ukraine, that Türkiye has US support as the new linchpin of Middle Eastern security.
