Developed by Baykar and recognized as the world’s most exported UAV in terms of both quantity and number of countries, the Bayraktar TB2 is set to continue making a name for itself on the battlefield with its new configuration.
The new configuration, named Bayraktar TB2T-AI, features a turbo engine and artificial intelligence. Additionally, it appears that “winglets” have been added to the wingtips and tail of the aircraft.
Equipped with a turbo engine, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI can reach an altitude of 30,000 feet in less than 30 minutes. During ongoing flight tests, it broke its own altitude record by reaching 30,318 feet.
Compared to existing UAVs, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI has significantly faster climb rates and the ability to stay at high altitudes for extended periods. With a speed of 160 knots (300 km/h), it has gained immense power to dominate airspace. Its increased takeoff weight and payload capacity will enable it to carry out longer and more effective missions on the battlefield.
Integrated with three next-generation AI computers, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI offers superior autonomous capabilities in air combat. The next-generation national UAV has also gained the ability to perform terrain-referenced visual navigation in the most challenging electronic warfare environments.
Thanks to its advanced AI systems, it can recognize terrain and determine directions using visual navigation. It can analyze, detect, and identify targets. Additionally, it can autonomously take off and land by visually recognizing runways. It is capable of dynamic route planning, determining the most optimal flight paths.
With its advanced features, the Bayraktar TB2T-AI UAV is expected to play a more active role in the battlefield.
