Egypt has formally joined Türkiye’s KAAN fighter project, maintained by TUSAŞ, Tactital Report and many other news outlets report.
Egypt had shown interest in the program after severed relations were mended. Egyptian government reportedly doesn’t want to be dependent on certain suppliers for weapons and wants to diversify them.
Joining KAAN project will also enable Egypt to receive jets without preconditions. A technology transfer is also likely to happen as Türkiye doesn’t restrict it.
Azerbaijan is also a formal partner of the program while Indonesia ordered for 48 units, even before Turkish Air Forces.
