Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Donald J. Trump of the United States.
The two leaders discussed the Türkiye–U.S. bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.
Stating that Türkiye closely follows the developments in Syria, President Erdoğan noted that Syria’s unity, solidarity and territorial integrity are important for Türkiye.
The call also addressed the fight against DAESH and the situation of the DAESH members in Syria’s prisons.
President Erdoğan stressed that a terror-free and peaceful Syria, which is developed with all its elements, will contribute to the regional stability as well.
Drawing attention to the ongoing efforts aimed at establishing peace in Gaza, President Erdoğan noted that Türkiye will continue to act in coordination with the U.S. on this issue.
President Erdoğan also thanked U.S. President Trump for his invitation to the Gaza Board of Peace.
