The TF35000 engine developed by TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) for the KAAN fighter jet has completed its first ground test. According to information obtained by Straturka, the engine produced 29,000 lbs of thrust in its initial test.
Efforts are ongoing for the engine to reach its target thrust of 35,000 lbs.
Meanwhile, an R&D unit affiliated with the Ministry of National Defense introduced another engine capable of producing 42,000 lbs of thrust. While no details were shared about the engine, experts suggest that it may have been developed for sixth-generation aircraft.
The same department also unveiled an ICBM named Yıldırımhan, with a range of 6,000 km. Some experts interpreted this as an indication that Türkiye may possess nuclear warheads. However, a military expert contacted by Straturka stated that producing a nuclear warhead based on 1955-era technology would be easy, but unnecessary. He added that using high explosives similar to those in the Gazap bomb would be sufficient for the Yıldırımhan missile.
The same expert emphasized that while attention is focused on Yıldırımhan, the real focus should be on Türkiye’s development of directed energy weapons such as lasers, microwaves, and EMP systems. According to him, Türkiye is competing with the United States and Israel in this field.
