There is widespread outrage around the world over the ongoing Israeli massacre and genocide in Gaza.
This outrage is growing independently of state policies toward Israel and appears poised to erupt into major explosions soon.
I watched the footage yesterday. Tens of thousands of people are participating in protests against the Israeli genocide held every weekend in Australia.
A huge crowd.
The same picture is seen around the world. Western countries, Latin countries, Asian countries…
Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni said yesterday, “If Netanyahu comes to our country, I will have him arrested.”
I won’t even mention Spain. From the very beginning, it has been the country that has reacted most strongly to the horrific massacre being carried out in Gaza. From its top leadership to its citizens on the street.
The demonstrations in Spain are, in a word, incredible.
Meanwhile, don’t be fooled by the number of people taking to the streets. Hatred of Israel and Israelis is now so widespread that it can be measured in the tens of millions. At almost every meeting or ceremony, everyone condemns the genocide and shouts “Free Palestine,” supported by cheers and applause. At concerts, singers always make a speech about Gaza and the genocide.
At the Emmy Awards ceremony, famous Spanish actor Javier Bardem wore a keffiyeh around his neck and defiantly declared, “I will not work with any institution or person that supports the genocide committed by Israel. It’s that simple.”
At the same awards ceremony, Hannah Einbinder, who won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and is actually of Jewish descent, shouted the slogan “Fuck Israel, freedom for Palestine” in her acceptance speech. Hundreds of actors and filmmakers attending the Emmy Awards cheered and applauded her.
Once again, Jewish orchestra conductor Ilan Volkov condemned Israel’s attack on Gaza during his concert in London with the following words.
“I feel immense pain in my heart and I can no longer remain silent. Thousands of innocent Palestinians are being killed, displaced repeatedly without hospitals, schools, or knowing when their next meal will be. I will no longer perform in Israel.”
A couple of people looked like they were going to intervene, but the entire hall gave Volkov enthusiastic applause in support. Meanwhile, the BBC, that rag that has been lecturing the world for years on press freedom and democracy, cut its live broadcast of this speech.
In the UK, Bronwen Maddox, CEO of Chatham House, harshly confronted Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who had been brought to her, saying, “You are committing genocide.” Herzog’s silent listening was instructive.
However, at the 2009 Davos Forum, then-Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan, sitting next to Israeli President Shimon Peres, who was constantly taunting him, said, “When it comes to killing, you know how to kill very well. I know very well how you killed the children on the beaches, how you shot them.” All hell broke loose, and from that moment on, FETÖ launched operations against Erdoğan and Turkey. From Gezi to December 17-25, from the February 7, 2012 MIT coup attempt to July 15, they did everything in their power.
Now things have changed.
The reaction and hatred have evolved into something completely different.
The other day, two people identified as Israeli soldiers were beaten up by Greeks in Athens.
Israeli tourists, especially in Italy and Spain, are being kicked out of every restaurant they go to.
Yesterday, 50 Israeli citizens singing genocide songs on a plane at Valencia airport in Spain were thrown off the plane. And the group’s leader was arrested…
Israelis are no longer safe anywhere in the world.
It seems that soon they will be unable to travel anywhere and will be confined to their own country.
There is a way out of this for the Israeli people.
They will recognize the Palestinian state, stop the massacre, overthrow the Netanyahu government, and pay for the damage they have caused, one by one.
Otherwise, Israel will be a prison for them, and the world will be a jungle where their lives are in danger.
This is the direction things are heading.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Israeli citizens are fanatical religious fascists. Hopefully, by the time they realize this, it won’t be too late.
