PRESS RELEASE OF ISTANBUL PUBLIC PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
Under the coordination of the Presidency of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, within the scope of the studies carried out regarding the “Political or Military Espionage” activities that are being carried out under the coordination of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Security Counterterrorism Department and the National Intelligence Organization (MIT):
It has been determined that members of the intelligence service of the United Arab Emirates, through a GSM number obtained from a company in Turkey, created fake profiles and:
· Tried to compile biographical data of executives in positions of responsibility in defense industry organizations operating in our country,
· A telephone used by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
· Contacted official representatives of some foreign countries to try to gather information about personnel working in critical positions.
An operation was carried out on 25.11.2025 to apprehend the 4 identified persons. As a result of the operation, 3 people were apprehended, and an arrest warrant was issued for 1 person who was abroad.
