Turkish Airlines has made an announcement stating that it will buy 225 Boeing aircrafts. While 150 of them will be firm order, 75 will be optional.
Here is Turkish’ statement;
In line with the growth targets set out in our Strategic Plan, which aims to generate high value for all stakeholders of our partnership, our Board of Directors has decided to purchase a total of 75 B787-9 and B787-10 aircraft from Boeing, consisting of 50 firm orders and 25 options, to be delivered between 2029 and 2034. Negotiations are ongoing with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace for the purchase of wing-mounted engines, spare engines, and engine maintenance services for these aircraft.
Additionally, negotiations with Boeing have been completed regarding the purchase of a total of 150 737-8/10MAX aircraft, including 100 firm orders and 50 options. If negotiations with engine manufacturer CFM International are successfully concluded, orders for the 737-8/10MAX aircraft will also be placed.
Along with the relevant orders, it is targeted that our entire fleet will consist of new generation aircraft by 2035, thereby strengthening our operational efficiency and achieving an average annual growth rate of 6%.
