Turkish Intelligence Nabs Suspected Mossad Spy in Istanbul Sting

Istanbul, October 3, 2025 — In a dramatic counterintelligence operation, Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) arrested a Turkish citizen, Serkan Çiçek (original name: Fatih Keleş), on suspicion of spying for Israel’s Mossad agency.

The operation, codenamed “Metron Activity,” was conducted in collaboration with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Istanbul Police Department, authorities confirmed today.

Çiçek, identified as a key operative allegedly collaborating with Mossad, was apprehended in Istanbul, though specific details about the location and circumstances of the arrest remain under wraps. The operation underscores Turkey’s intensified efforts to dismantle foreign espionage networks operating within its borders, amid heightened regional tensions.

While authorities have not yet disclosed the full scope of Çiçek’s alleged activities or evidence recovered, the investigation is ongoing, with officials promising further updates. This high-profile arrest highlights the escalating intelligence rivalries in the Middle East, as geopolitical dynamics continue to strain Turkey-Israel relations.
