The Directorate General for Emergency Situations and Defense Planning has been established by a decree of President Erdoğan.
The main duties and powers of the new directorate are:
— To carry out tasks and procedures related to emergency situations, civil defense, mobilization, and wartime conditions, and to ensure coordination with relevant service units.
— Directing the capabilities and resources needed in emergencies and providing the necessary resources.
— Ensuring the flow of information between the Presidency and disaster and emergency management centers.
— Performing other duties assigned by the Minister.
