Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a formal agreement on Monday for Turkey to purchase 44 Eurofighter Typhoon jets from the European consortium that manufactures the aircraft, concluding negotiations that dragged on for more than a year.
The agreement, which involves a 10-year deal worth nearly $11 billion for 20 UK-made jets, was signed during Starmer’s first official visit to Ankara after assuming office last year.
Other 24 jets will be bought from Oman and Qatar, each state to sell 12 units separately.
First batch of jets will arrive in early 2026.
