Following the 10,7 billion USD deal with UK to buy at least 20 units of Eurofighter Typhoon jets yesterday, Türkiye has delivered three units of indigenous Altay tanks today.
An inauguration ceremony was conducted in BMC facilities based in Ankara. Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech during the event and gave information about the indigenous tank project.

Erdoğan said Altay is the most advanced of its type. The factory will deliver eight units per month, he added. He also underlined that embargoes did not stop them, referring to Germany’s ban on tank engines.
The first 80 units of Altay will be produced with a Korean engine and transmission while following units will be powered with BMC’s Batu engine and transmission.
Altay is also expected to be exported to friendly countries. BMC says many countries are in queue to but the tank.
