Pro-PKK protestors had taken streets with the call of Selahattin Demirtaş, then leader of pro-PKK HDP party, in 2015 when Kobani city of Syria was under the siege of ISIS.
Turkish police revealed that Kobani siege was used by the PKK to trigger a civil war. A secret witness has also revealed that they got support from France and USA, which did not want peace process to continue.
According to Sabah newspaper, the secret witness ‘ABC123’ stated that France and America, which wanted the peace process to end, wanted a civil war to be ignited in Turkey. The secret witness said; “France and the United States in particular wanted the peace process to end. He kept saying ; “As long as you attack, we will give you all the necessary equipment. If necessary, we will enter Turkey as the UN Peace-keeping Forces or NATO. Start a civil war in Turkey. As NATO, we will create a buffer zone. A buffer zone will be created between the east and the west. The region called Kurdistan will be left to you”.
