Ukraine wants to co-produce defensive weapons with Türkiye

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in Kyiv. Umerov asked Fidan to cooperate in production of defensive weapons.

Umerov gave details in his Facebook account. He stated that;

In Kyiv, I held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Hakan Fidan.

I am grateful to Turkey for its consistent support, active mediation, and efforts toward a just peace.

Mr. Fidan confirmed that Turkey will continue to stand with Ukraine and support peaceful efforts.

First Deputy Minister of Defence, Serhiy Boiev, outlined key areas in which Ukraine requires support:

– investment in the defence-industrial complex

– supply of equipment and air defence systems

– ammunition for air defence

– artillery shells of main calibers

– strengthening our long-range capabilities.

We have significant potential to expand our defence cooperation with Turkey.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported on the operational situation at the front. Despite heavy losses, the enemy continues its offensive attempts.

In addition, the Turkish delegation was informed about the overall security situation. Intelligence representatives Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov and Major General Vadym Skibitskyi noted that russia is intensifying its efforts: increasing troop numbers, escalating strikes on civilian cities, and ramping up arms production. This once again proves the kremlin’s unchanged goal — the occupation of Ukraine.

Together with my team, I emphasized: Ukraine seeks peace. We are ready for a lasting ceasefire — and for building reliable security guarantees, which we are already working on with our partners.

By strengthening Ukraine, we ensure a reliable and lasting peace.
