Mexican elections have ended with victory of Claudia Sheinbaum, a Jewish origin politician as well as mayor of Mexico City. In 2018, she said she was “proud” of her Jewish origins.
According to Times of Israel, the 61-year-old former mayor of Mexico City has pursued a strategy that keeps her religious background “hidden” without denying it. Sheinbaum is a Bulgarian Jew.
Whether she will support Israel’s genocide in Gaza is a matter of curiosity.
