Türkiye is developing gas turbine engines in a tight time frame in almost a full mobilisation atmosphere. High thrust turbofan engines, which are considered to be the most difficult technology in the world, are being worked on in teams with the partnerships of Turkish companies. With the 10,000Lb and 35,000Lb turbofan engines developed by TEI, indigenous platforms will take an honourable leap forward in the next five years. Baykar will also make a tremendous contribution to this capability with a 20,000Lb engine equivalent to the EJ200, which provides thrust to Eurofighter, and the M88-2, which provides thrust to Rafale aircraft. This engine will be an excellent power source for the Hürjet and will be used in the larger and more capable variant of the Kizilelma.
In today’s world order, which is unjust and where the laws of the jungle are effective, those who are not deterrent enough will not have much chance to stand or survive. Therefore, countries need to develop ITAR-Free products on strategic platforms in order to become stronger, or make alliances with countries developing those products with which they have established ties of trust and friendship and brotherhood in order to disrupt the balance of power they have established. This makes all these projects you see in the infographic much more meaningful and valuable
As a result of this fact, the most important and most difficult pillar of this struggle is engine technology for Turkiye and As the infographic shows, Turkiye’s latest moves send a message to countries that have been trying to discipline us with embargoes that ‘nothing will ever be the same again’. At the same time, allied countries that don’t have access to this technology or have conditional access to it will be provided with a very powerful technological opportunity. In this way, power and technology will not fall under the hegemony of certain blocks and the ‘era of drowning the cat to the mouse’ will be more difficult than before
