US continues to support PKK/YPG terrorism in Syria

US funds YPG

The United States Embassy to Syria posted a tweet, stating exactly that “We are deeply concerned by reports of shelling on Kobani and deplore any loss of civilian life. The United States calls on all parties to deescalate.”

The tweet was received with fury by Turkish authorities and people. The Turkish side condemned the US Embassy since its claim that Turkish army was shelling on civilians was misleading. Turkish Defense Ministry said that they targeted three PKK/YPG commanders who gave the order for attacking Turkish troops based in Syria. A Turkish police officer was killed during an attack perpetrated by YPG last week. The attack came after Turkish army’s operation to the PKK strongholds located in Northern Iraq.

The attack shows the PKK and SDF (YPG) link, an analyst said. Adem Yılmaz, a Turkish foreign policy analyst, added that the US did not condemn the attack on Turkish troops in Syria.

YPG was renamed as SDF by the US Army a few years ago. Since then, the terrorist organization attacks Turkish troops under the custody of the US army. Turkish people assume US support to YPG as an act of betrayal.
