Earlier this week, I said that “the US century is coming to an end, as Trump put it; America is no longer the world’s gendarme,” but I also expressed skepticism that America would be able to drive a wedge between itself and Europe, the keystone of the “rules-based global system” it has been building and defending since 1991. Europe, which is like a bunch of bratty children fighting with each other without a “big brother” at their head… Europe, which has completely turned its back on defense affairs since 1991, when the Soviet Union dissolved itself… And that global system, which, as President Erdoğan identified and declared in his foreign policy-oriented speech earlier this week, has suffered a sledgehammer blow from its founders.
Many geostrategists saw years ago that the system would collapse. In addition to the US’s possession of new energy resources, which I refer to as the US giving up its role as world gendarme, geostrategists added the need to focus on China, the inability of the American economy to carry Europe, South America and Japan commercially and militarily, and the discontent of the American people with the fact that the costs of the globalist order outweigh the benefits. (Of course, the globalists are no longer able to gendarme American politics as they used to.)
President Erdoğan summarized the analysis earlier this week with the following statement: “We are hearing the sounds of tremors in many regions, especially in Palestine, Lebanon and Ukraine. Everyone recognizes that a path of no return has been taken.”
Erdogan must also be assessing that the biggest damage (let’s not say “damage” but “burden”) that these developments will bring will fall on Europe, for he devoted a part of his speech to Europe, saying that “only Turkey’s full membership to the EU can save Europe from the predicament it has fallen into, from economy to defense, from politics to international reputation”.
In preparing for this new era and shaping its new strategies, Erdoğan said that Turkey must first and foremost “get rid of the burden on its back and break the shackles on its feet”. This is the realization of the goal of a “Turkey without terrorism”. It is the United States and a few European countries that have placed the burden of terrorism on Turkey. If it wants to stay under the collapsing Globalist system and avoid the severe consequences of being abandoned by the US, Europe must take its hands off the PKK. From harboring fleeing terrorists, to hosting KCK and similar organizations, to directly supporting Qandil and the PYD/YPG, the Syrian extension of the PKK/KCK, and their so-called political organization, the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which in reality is a proxy organization established in Syria by the American Globalists to divide Iraq and Syria, Europe is also involved in all kinds of schemes.
The few countries that want to lead Europe without America must help Turkey if they really want to succeed.
The US should not think that it can wash its hands of Europe and walk away without leaving behind a bunch of bratty children who are once again grabbing each other by the collar. Trump says “NATO belongs in a museum!” but that is not the truth. Even without NATO, Europe will always need an alliance organization for its own defense. It is clear that this need can only be met by a Turkey that is free from the shackles of terrorism.
This is only possible if the US really withdraws its hand from the SDF, without leaving any room for doubt, conspiracy or trap. It is America that founded the SDF and organized them under the name of “Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria” (Rojava) so that they could establish a state at the first opportunity. The head of this so-called autonomous administration is the spiritual son of PKK ringleader Abdullah Öcalan, also known as Mazlum Abdi, Ferhat Abdi Şahin or Şahin Cilo. It was the commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) who flew Mazlum Kobani in his helicopter to sign the agreement with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara. It is therefore difficult to believe that the provisions of this agreement will actually be implemented.
We will wait and see.
