Tunisia negotiates to buy 6 Gökbey helicopters

Defense website Mena Defense has reported that Tunisia may buy Gökbey helicopters from Türkiye.

Tunisia is currently negotiating for an order of six units. These aircraft will replace the aging UH-1s of the Tunisian Air Force. The Gökbey is a 5 ton medium helicopter which has the capacity to carry 12 people or a 6 ton cargo. It is equipped with two LHTEC CTS800 turbines and can reach a speed of 305 Km/h. There is currently no armed version of the T625 but it is possible to equip it with port machine guns.


Two units of Gökbey are expected to be delivered to Turkish gendermarie within this year, being the first delivery of the type.
