Turkey will establish land, sea, and air bases for training purposes in various regions of Syria to enhance the country’s defense security capabilities and support its fight against terrorism. Sources informed Yeni Şafak that one of the reasons for Israel’s airstrikes on Syria is to prevent this training that Turkey is preparing to provide. According to security sources, the main purpose of the planned bases is to improve the training and coordination capacities of Syrian security units, as well as to ensure security stability on the border line. The bases will conduct military consulting, field training, and strategic planning support activities. This step between Turkey and Syria will be based on cooperation and capacity building for regional security. The regions where the bases will be located will be determined in line with current risks and evaluations with the Syrian administration. This move will be a strategic step for Turkey’s border security, and it is expected that the fight against terrorism will be a long-term process that requires not only operational but also training and structural capacity building.
ISRAEL IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE NEW STEP
The training, which will be given according to the conjuncture of the current conditions, will be given on land, sea, and air, according to both regional conditions and other military foundations.
