Turkey wants to increase defense cooperation with Bangladesh. Turkish Ambassador Mustafa Osman Turan said that they are willing to transfer technology for this. He said these things at the Meet the Ambassador program organized by the Center for Governance Studies on Wednesday (November 16).
Stating that Bangladesh has bought many other products including armored personnel carriers, rocket launchers, drones, he said, ‘It should not be limited to buying and selling. A Turkish company has given the technology of shell making to Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory and it is being made here.’
Regarding the new proposal for Navy and Coast Guard, he said, ‘We have proposed transfer of technology for making petrol boats. If accepted, nine petrol boats will be built in Khulna and Chittagong.’
In the last 15 years, Turkish companies have made great progress in the production of defense products. They are now producing NATO quality products and selling them at affordable prices without conditions, he said.
He said, ‘Turkey has an agreement with Bangladesh regarding training and financial assistance. Under financial assistance, Bangladesh can buy defense products with money from Turkey.
