Turkey’s tourism revenues rose to 65 billion dollars

Turkey’s tourism revenue rose to $65 billion 230 million 749 thousand in 2025, an increase of 6.8 per cent over the previous year, while the number of visitors leaving the country reached 63 million 917 thousand 57.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released tourism statistics for the fourth quarter and overall for 2025.
According to these figures, tourism revenue increased by 6.8 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching 65 billion 230 million 749 thousand dollars.


Tourism revenue generated from visitors amounted to 64 billion 448 million 303 thousand dollars, while tourism revenue generated from transfer passengers amounted to 782 million 446 thousand dollars.
It was determined that 18 per cent of tourism revenue from visitors was generated by foreign residents visiting Turkey.
Of this revenue, 46 billion 252 million 178 thousand dollars came from personal spending, while 18 billion 196 million 125 thousand dollars came from package tour spending.
The number of visitors departing from Turkey increased by 2.7 per cent compared to the previous year in 2025, rising to 63 million 917 thousand 57 people. Of these, 11,175,394 people, or 17.5%, were citizens residing abroad.
During this period, the average daily expenditure per person staying overnight was $100, while the average daily expenditure per person residing abroad was $64.
Within the tourism revenue generated from visitors, the share of package tour expenditure was recorded as 28.2 per cent, the share of food and beverage expenditure as 21.1 per cent, and the share of international transport expenditure as 12.8 per cent in 2025.
During this period, package tour expenditure increased by 4.5 per cent, food and beverage expenditure by 16.1 per cent, and international transport expenditure by 8.9 per cent compared to the previous year.
The primary purpose of visitors’ trips was “travel, entertainment, sporting and cultural activities” at 67.7%, while foreign residents came to Turkey most frequently for “visiting relatives and friends” at 63.4%.

Tourism expenditure increased by 24 per cent
Last year, tourism expenditure rose by 24 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching 9 billion 602 million 89 thousand dollars. Of this, 7 billion 369 million 230 thousand dollars was personal expenditure and 2 billion 232 million 858 thousand dollars was package tour expenditure.
The number of citizens visiting foreign countries in the year in question increased by 4.4 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching 11 million 897 thousand 355 people. Their average expenditure per person was 807 dollars.
