Baykar Tech CEO Haluk Bayraktar has said they plan to open drone training and roduction centers in 81 provinces.
Haluk Bayraktar announced his new goals to expand the drone ecosystem across Turkey.
Bayraktar stated that they aim to establish drone training and production centers in all 81 provinces, and that young people in every province are planned to be trained in drone technologies.
He also said that all revenues from a field expo to be organized would be transferred to this area.
Straturka has asked Bayraktar’s project to Assoc. Prof. İbrahim Karataş, an international relations and security expert.
Karataş said Bayraktar’s project is a smart move. First, destroying all production facilities in a war is almost impossible. Second, more people will have knowledge and usage capability of drones.
Karataş also proposes that all soldiers should learn how to use drones and keep kamikaze drones with them. Referring to Baykar’s small but 1000 km range kamikaze drone Sivrisinek (Mosquito), he added that “such drones can be given to soldiers and asked to launch in a likely war. Türkiye has a huge territory. Think of soldiers have them in their homes or outposts. In case of a war, they can fire them to hit a target that is 1000 km away. Soldiers will rarely use pistols as wars are no longer conducted in a certain battlefield”.
